RENOVATION STUDIES

2001.07-2002.12 (Series of 8 programs)
Venue:
TEMPORARY CONTEMPORARY

As a director, Taro Igarashi ran a series of lectures focusing upon renovating old architectures. Guest speakers gave lectures and panelists were to raise a discussion according to each topic at a time. It was held in the midst of the stream of resource revival movement in architecture, which helped nailing the keyword "renovation" as a hot term in contemporary architecture and art. The series is highly appreciated as a milestone provading relevant argument.

After having it for 8 times, "Renovation Studies" took off Tamada Projects and travelled 7 renovation sites for the latter half of the series. A good record of the whole series comes in 2 books, both in Japanese.
